Zachary Rothstein is a Partner based in London. He specialises in helping organisations leverage technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of their governance, risk and compliance functions. Zachary oversees Control Risks’ third-party due diligence business (VANTAGE), including sales, marketing, operational management, product development, and partnerships.
Zachary’s recent projects include:
- Developing Control Risks’ proprietary automated third party screening technology, fusing data science, human investigative insight, and predictive analytics.
- Leading a custom risk-based due diligence programme for a multinational organisation encompassing third party risk assessment, questionnaires, workflow and proactive monitoring.
- Establishing Control Risks’ centres of excellence for third-party due diligence research and training.

In addition, Zachary served as the analyst for Central and Eastern Europe at Control Risks. In this role, he wrote numerous customised reports on political, security and operational risks in specific countries for companies in a wide range of sectors. His comments on and analysis of developments in the region appeared in various media outlets, including the Financial Times, Forbes, CNN Money and the Guardian.
Zachary also served as VP of Product and Customer Success at Polecat - a technology company focused on real-time risk intelligence, data analytics and artificial intelligence - where he led the company's product development, go-to-market, and client management strategy.
Zachary has a joint MA with distinction in Economy, State and Society with a focus on Central and Eastern Europe from the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at University College London, and the Uniwersytet Jagiellonski in Krakow, Poland. Zachary also holds a BA with honours in International Relations, with a concentration in Russian Studies, from Harvard University. He speaks Russian, Polish and French.
